Your midterm is now available here (in PDF format).
Though you have 24 hours to write this exam (and you should email it to me at jon.beasley-murray@ubc.ca before 12 noon, Vancouver time, on Tuesday, March 23), it is designed to take around an hour of focused attention. It should certainly not take you more than 90 minutes, maximum.
You may use a dictionary or other aids in this exam. But while you should do your best to ensure that what you write is grammatical, clear, and even stylish, your written Spanish will only be penalized if it is unintelligible.
You may also consult material and resources about the texts, but I do not particularly recommend you do so, as what interests me is your interpretation of the texts, whose words are in front of you on the page.
Below you will find an example of a midterm exams from a previous year. While this year’s exam will not be identical, and may have a slightly different format, it will not be vastly different.
I will be on Zoom on Monday afternoon (at the usual link) from 12 to 1pm, in case you have any questions.
Good luck!
